The following section explains how to fasten, position, and adjust the Kia EV6 driver’s seat belt correctly.

The Kia EV6 3-point seat belt system is designed to provide improved restraint performance during sudden stops, sharp maneuvers, and collision situations.

Fastening the seat belt

• Pull the Kia EV6 seat belt out from the retractor and insert the metal latch tab (1) into the buckle (2).

  An audible “click” sound confirms that the Kia EV6 seat belt latch has locked securely into the buckle.

The Kia EV6 seat belt automatically adjusts to the proper length after the lap belt section has been positioned snugly across the hips.

If you lean forward slowly and smoothly, the Kia EV6 seat belt extends to allow comfortable movement.

However, during sudden braking, sharp vehicle movement, or impact situations, the Kia EV6 emergency locking retractor automatically locks the seat belt into position to help restrain the occupant.

The Kia EV6 seat belt may also lock if the occupant leans forward too quickly.

Place the Kia EV6 lap belt portion as low as possible across the hips and pelvis area.

If the lap belt is positioned across the abdomen instead of the hips, the risk of injury during a collision may increase significantly.

The arm closest to the Kia EV6 seat belt buckle should remain above the seat belt, while the opposite arm remains underneath the belt, as illustrated.

Never wear the Kia EV6 seat belt underneath the arm closest to the vehicle door.

Height adjustment

The Kia EV6 shoulder belt anchor height can be adjusted to one of four different positions to provide improved comfort, proper seat belt positioning, and enhanced occupant protection.

Correct seat belt adjustment in the Kia EV6 helps improve safety during sudden braking, emergency maneuvers, and collision situations.

The Kia EV6 shoulder belt should never rest too close to the neck area.

For maximum protection, the shoulder belt portion should lie comfortably across the chest and midway over the shoulder nearest the door, rather than across the face or neck.

Improper seat belt positioning in the Kia EV6 may reduce restraint effectiveness and increase the possibility of injury during an accident.

To adjust the Kia EV6 seat belt shoulder anchor height:

• To raise the shoulder belt anchor, pull the height adjuster upward.

• To lower the Kia EV6 shoulder belt anchor, press the height adjuster button (1) while pushing the adjuster downward.

Release the adjustment button after selecting the desired position.

After adjustment, slide the Kia EV6 height adjuster slightly to verify that the shoulder belt anchor is securely locked into place.

The Kia EV6 seat belt adjustment system is designed to improve both safety and long-distance driving comfort for occupants of different heights.
